LOAD January 2009

Net als vorig jaar met LOAD heb ik weer een foto gemaakt van het eindresultaat..... 

Like last year I made a picture of all my LOAD pages .......

Week 6!

En daar ging ze dan..... 9 jaar geworden. Niet meer gemakkelijk een mooi jurkje voor d'r meenemen.... niet meer de prinsessentaart..... geen roze ballonnen .... Maar wel een meid die een stuk lekkerder in d'r vel zit dan pak um beet een jaar geleden.... Meer foto's in de vorige post.

And there she was .... on her 9th birthday. Not too easy with buying a nice dress .... no more princess cakes.... no more pink balloons..... But here is a girl that is feeling much better then... say a year ago! More pictures in the previous post.

Een zomaar foto van de zondag avond... Remco is (net als Sander) behoorlijk bangig uitgevallen, honden, katten, ballonnen.... eigenlijk alles wat beweegt en geluid/lawaai kan maken. Ook onze eigen Vladimir kan hem niet bekoren en het 'poes wil naar buiten' klinkt dan ook regelmatig (... als ik hem maar kwijt ben, zal hij wel denken). Wat schetst dus mijn verbazing als hij al in pyjama zit en ineens het beessie gaat zitten aaien... hopelijk is dit de ommekeer!

A simple picture from a regular Sunday night.... Remco (like Sander) is quite afraid of lots of things..... dogs, cats, balloons.... actually everything that moves and makes noise. Even our own Vladimir couldn't make him feel better, and the 'cat wanna outside?' comes from his nouth regularly (.... if he only gets out of my way, are his thoughts, me thinks). So I was highly surprised that he, sitting in his jammies already, starts petting the cat .... let's hope this is the turning point!

Op zaterdag gaan we op bezoek bij de familie Reutelingsperger.... In december is Mons geboren... broertje van Bente, Kjell en Elin.... Uiteraard moest Sander uitgebreid knuffelen!

On Saturday we went to visit the Reutelingsperger's.... In December Mons was born, little brother of Bente, Kjell and Elin. Of course Sander needed to snuggle with him!

Natuurlijk komt er ook een foto van Tessa's verjaardag in mijn 3-foto's-van-de-week, maar nu ik ontdekt heb dat er ook een picasa voor MAC is, kan ik het niet laten wat meer foto's te laten zien.... Wordt waarschijnlijk wel groter als je hem aanklikt. Oh en voor Francine.... aan de linkerkant, tweede van boven is de reactie van Tessa op de Wii game 'Dierenpension'.... alleen die foto al maakt me helemaal blij dat ik hem toch gekocht heb, zelfs al ben ik ervan overtuigd dat er veel leukere spellen zijn!

Of course there will be a picture of the birthday girl in my 3-pictures-of-the-week, but since I discovered that they now have picasa for MAC, I couldn't resist making a collage of birthday pictures. I guess it will blow up if you click the picture. Oh and for my friend Francine.... the second picture from the top on the left side is Tessa's reaction when she opens the Wii game 'pet shelter' ..... the picture alone makes me totally happy that I decided to buy this game for her, even if I still feel that there are much better games out there!

 

LOAD januari klaar!

Februari is alweer een paar dagen oud, maar er zijn nog wat pagina's van januari. Het is gelukt 31 pagina's te maken in de 31 dagen.....

February is already on it's way, but there were some leftovers from January. I succeeded in making 31 pages in 31 days.. YAY!

Juffendag, altijd een groot feest op school. Gelukkig vieren alle kleuterjuffen het op dezelfde dag. Als contactouder regel je een kadootje en liefst ook dat de kinderen zelf wat knutselen (eenbloem in dit geval).

Teachers-day.... alway a big celebration at school. Luckily all kindergarten-teachers share the same birthday ;-). Being a contact-parent, I took care of the presents and the art-work the kids did for the teachers (home made flowers this time).

In het voorjaar waren we een weekend kamperen in Andijk.... sprookjeswonderland was een leuke afsluiting!

Spring 2008 we went camping in Andijk.... fairytale dreamland was a wonderfull end of this weekend!

9 jaar Tessa alweer..... kijk nou eens hoe ze van dat lieve babietje opgroeide tot een flinke dame.... Om met de woorden van Marco Borsato te spreken (ook op de pagina) ....'en ohh, wat gaat de tijd toch snel..'

9 years of Tessa already.... look how she grew up from this sweet little baby to this gorgeous girl. To quote Marco Borsato (on the page too).... 

'and oww, how the time flies, it was only yesterday that I saw her for the first times, laying in my arms. She is beautiful. Time serves her well. I blink with my eyes and see how she is changing. But how big she might be already... in my eyes she will always be little.'

No explanation needed... they are crazy about each other!

Week 5....

Wat is het toch fijn om een paar vriendinnen te hebben die er toch ook nog aan denken een kaartje op de echte dag te sturen (of te sms'en, of te bellen, of te mailen!)....

Oh it how it feels so good it is to have friends who will send you a birthday card  (or sent a text message, or will call you, or send you an email) on the day self, even though you celebrated early...

Op school heeft Tessa het vak 'Arbeid naar keuze' en zij koos er dit eerste half jaar voor om aan een leefkussen te werken. Dit was de laatste dag dat ze aan dit project kon werken en mochten de ouders komen kijken. Het is nog niet helemaal af, maar ze heeft nu al geweldig werk verricht, die kanjer!

In school Tessa has something called 'Chosen work'  for which she choose to work on a pillow case. This was the final day to work on the project and all parents could come and see the work. It's not completely finished, but she did an amazing job already..... my hero!

In het najaar mocht ik elke woensdag een paar uurtje op haar passen. Rinske, de jongste spruit aan de Fintelmannen-kant.... en wat voor eentje. Het is een dame met pit zeg maar, eentje die aanwezig is en krijgt wat ze wil hebben. Niets mis mee.... ze heeft het waarschijnlijk nog hard nodig. Maar de reden dat ik deze foto uitgekozen heb voor deze week... is haar band met Sander.... Elke keer dat Sander thuiskwam als Rinske er was, bloeide zijn gezicht op als hij haar zag en week hij geen moment van haar zijde tot het moment dat haar mama weer terug was. Gisteren waren we bij haar thuis omdat haar grote zus Iona haar 10de (!!!) verjaardag vierde en dat was uiteraard voor Sander weer de gelegenheid wat quality time met haar door te brengen. Toen opa vroeg of hij zeker nog wel een broertje of zusje wilde, antwoordde hij stellig 'nee hoor, ik wil haar!'

This fall I was so lucky to babysit this sweet little girl... the youngest on the Fintelman-side..... and she stands her ground. This lady has will power, a lady who is present with every vibe in her little body. And there's nothing wrong with that..... she probably needs those qualities later in her life. But that is not the reason I choose this picture.... because the bond she has with Sander is though! Everytime that Sander would come home when Rinske was here, his face lighted and he would not leave her side till her mom would come to pick her up. Yesterday we were at her place because her big sister celebrated her 10th (!!!) birthday and of course Sander was happy to spend some quality time with her.  At one point granddad asked him whether he would like a little sister of brother, he answered deteremined 'no, I want her!) .

Simple Woman's Daybook

For Wednesday January 28th 2009

Outside my window... A rather cold, misty day. In the afternoon we got some sunshine!

I am thinking... why are the Wednesdays always so hectic..... school only in the morning and short, doing groceries, soccer training, swimming lessons..... Wouldn't it be nice to be working on Wednesdays?

I am thankful for... reaching my 37th birthday in great health (hey... wii fit told me today that I have the body of a 32 year old ;-P).

From the learning rooms... From group 5 on the kids in school get to choose something from a list and it is called 'work as chosen' (Arbeid naar keuze). Today Tessa finished her first half year working in an art class for making a big pillow.

From the kitchen... since Paul wasn't home for diner and we were home late because of other stuff, I treated the kids on pancakes....

I am wearing... skinny jeans with brown boots, aqua polo and black vest.

I am creating... nothing special... still working on the LOAD challenge, but besides that, the creating part today was more in doing birthday shopping for my big girl next week ;-P

I am going... well, I went to a lot of places, but no fitness for me tonight since Paul is out and I could't reach the babysitters in time.

I am reading... eeeeehmmmm... some www.nu.nl and the OSU MB  **grin**

I am hoping... that nobody in this family will catch the flu that is going around!

I am hearing... radio 3FM

Around the house... still no cleaning lady, so not much to be proud of if you look behind the surface.

One of my favorite things... we are all into the wii fit this last week, a lot of fun!

A few plans for the rest of the week... having cake at work tomorrow, call Iona to congratulate her on her 10th birthday, go to her birthday party on Saturday and BIL's on Sunday.

De beloofde pagina's

Ik ben bang dat de 31 pagina's in januari toch niet helemaal gaat lukken, maar ik geef nog niet op.... jullie hebben er nog een paar van me tegoed:

Eigenlijk een supereenvoudige pagina, met wat vilt en een paar brads. De foto is genomen in het voorjaar van 2008 door zwager. De vilten bloem is gemaakt door Petra in een vilt embellishmentswap van ScrapGoods.... de die cut 'happy'  is over het gele hart van de bloem geplakt.

This is an easy page with some felt and a couple of brads. The pictures was taken in spring 2008 by brother in law. The felt flower is made by Petra for the felt embellishment swap back at ScrapGoods.... the die cut 'happy'  was glued on top of her yellow flower center.

Net ontdekt dat je bij de deurknop kan..... heeeeee, daar zit een sleutel, dat is leuk! 

(ik heb wijselijk besloten die sleutel maar even op een plankje buiten bereik neer te leggen ;-P)

Nog meer foto's van onze vakantie in Engeland afgelopen jaar. De enige ochtend dat we op het strand door konden brengen..... en dan ook nog in bikini dan wel te verstaan. Dat we diezelfde middag de vouwwagen in de stromende regen af staan te breken konden we nu nog niet vermoeden!

Week 4 in beeld

Nog maar even snel voor ik mijn bedje induik de foto's van deze week..... de pagina's die ik gemaakt heb volgen dan een andere keer weer.

A quick upload from this week's pictures before I head to bed.... the pages I did will come later!

Om de week gaat Remco naar oma, daar kijkt hij ongeveer 13 dagen naar uit en de dag gaat altijd veel te snel voorbij ;-P. Als ik van de N11 afga en de A4 oprij begint het meestal...' Mama ikke dukke?'..... ja hoor, jij mag op het knopje drukken..... Dit herhaalt zich ongeveer vierhondervijfentachtig keer tot we de Smientstraat inrijden. Vanaf het moment dat ik zijn deur open doe probeert hij al z'n stoel uit te kruipen.... wat natuurlijk helemaal niet gaat, want zijn riem zit nog vast. Enige vermanende woorden zijn meestal ook nodig, want anders LUKT het gewoon niet.... Maar dan zet ik hem op straat en rent hij naar de deur en drukt op de bel..... paar stapjes naar achter en daar wacht ie af.... Oma slaat het gade vanuit de keuken..... zich goed bewust dat het toch echt 'not done' is de deur alvast te openen ;-)

Every other week on Thursday, Remco is with grandma, he looks forward to that about 13 days and the day ends way too soon in his little world. When I am about halfway he starts 'can I push?' ..... yes my friend, you can push the button..... This is repeated a gazzilion times.... till we enter the street where my parents live. From the moment I open his door, he starts to try to get out of his chair.... which of course is not going to work, because his belt is still on. Some reminding words are often necessary.... because he is so eager to go out that it doesn't work. But then I put him down the street and he runs to the door en pushes the button...... then a couple of steps to the back and there he waits...... Grandma is watching him from the kitchen window..... very aware that it would be totally not done to open the door early ;-P.

Ik had het al vernomen 'ik mama beker verft en plakt!'.... ik snapte er geen hout van, tot oma je duidelijk probeerde te maken dat dat nog een verrassing was. Toen was het hek helemaal van de dam, want toen konden er ook nog andere woorden aan het enthousiaste verhaal toegevoegd worden als 'kalootje', ' mama bijna jarig' en 'ik mama geven dan!'..... Het feest is weer achter de rug.... al moet de echte verjaring nog gebeuren.... het was weer leuk!

I was told before 'me cup paint and glue too' .... I didn't understand at all, till grandma told you to be quite because it was still a surprise. Oh boy, now you couldn't be held at all and you were able to add some more words to your story like 'prevent', 'mammy party' and 'I give mammy'.... The party was great... even though the real 'aging' is not untill Thursday....

Pagina 15-18

Achteraf had ik misschien toch niet voor het paars van de bloemen moeten gaan, maar er iets van rood bij moeten pakken, maar goed. Hoe het ventje zo vaak is, vol beweging en energie....

After I finished I had this feeling that I should have gone with the red instead of the purple of the flowers.... oh well, it's done. My cutiepie to the t, full of motion and energy!

Deze quote zag in in een tijdschrift en is zo passend... ja, we geven veel op voor die kleine etterbakkies..... eeeeeh lieve schatjes, maar wat je ervoor terug krijgt is onbetaalbaar!

I saw this quote in one of the magazines and this is so true..... yes, we do give up a lot for these monsters...... eeeehh, sweet babies ;-P, but what you get in return is priceless!

In Wales gingen we afgelopen zomer naar een dino- en grotten park... alleen de naam is al exotisch genoeg om er heen te willen: Dan-yr-Ogof. Remco moest even overtuigd worden dat de dino's niet echt waren, maar daarna was het voor iedereen leuk.

While in Whales last summer, we went to a dino- and cavespark..... the name alone is already so exotic that you want to go there: Dan-yr-Ogof. Once Remco figured out the dino's were not real we had a great time.

De laatste schooldag van 2008, altijd weer een bijzondere dag.... hoe zal de vakantie zijn, zal ik volgend jaar een leuke juf hebben, wordt het nog een beetje mooi weer. Met de heerlijkheid van 6 vrije weken voor de boeg, straal je natuurlijk altijd!

Last day of school in 2008, as always a special day.... how will we spend the vacation, will I get a nice teacher next year, do we get nice weather. With the knowledge of 6 school-free weeks, you just have to smile!

Week 3

Dit kreeg Remco van sinterklaas en is sindsdien niet meer weggeweest uit de kamer. Remco, maar ook Sander (en z'n vriendjes) spelen er dagelijks mee. Soms alleen met de verschillende treintjes, soms in combinatie met de (playmobil) ambulance en dino-vanger.... Hele verhalen spelen ze zo uit.... dat de dino ontsnapt uit zijn kooi, dan achtervolgt wordt door een poppetje op de motor die, als hij de treinbaan over wil steken aangereden wordt door een trein en door de ambulance opgehaald moet worden..... Geweldig toch?

Remco got this from Sinterklaas and didn't leave the room since. Remco, but also Sander (and his friends) play with this daily. Sometimes with the set alone, somtimes in combination with the (playmobile) ambulance and dino-catcher.... They play whole stories with from a cage escaped dino's, who is followed by a motor cycler who, when crossing the tracks, is hit by a train and then needs a pick up from the ambulance.... Don't you love it!

En daar was dan mijn eerste (nog) hectischer woensdagmiddag. Tessa zit op voetbal en moet uiteraard nog naar de training gebracht worden. Ze kwam helemaal enthousiast thuis, dus dat zit wel goed... ik vind haar super stoer!

And there is was.... my first very hectic Wednesday afternoon. Tessa started to play soccer and of course needs to be brought to her training. She came home totally enthusiastic, so I was too....  Isn't she looking great?

In de ban van de wii..... dit kastje zal over 20 jaar vast omschreven worden als het meest ouderwetse ding van deze tijd (net zoals wij het nu hebben over de comodore 64 ;-P), maar nu hebben we er ontzettend veel lol van. Op dit moment hebben we alleen de wii play en wii sports, maar met de komende verjaardagen zal daar vast verandering in komen!

Obsessed by the wii .... this little technical gear probably will get funny jokes in 20 years (just like we are doing with 'our' comodore 64 ;-P) but not yet.... Right now we just have a lot of fun with wii play and wii sports.... the upcoming birthdays probably will increase our collection.

Foto's week 2

Het wordt meteen al moeilijk deze week, maar 3 foto's uit kunnen kiezen. Het is deze week fantastisch weer hier in Nederland.... flinke vorst (tot temperaturen van -20 C 's nachts in Limburg) en veel strak blauwe luchten.

It's already difficult to choose only 3 pictures this week. This week the weather is fantastic here in the Netherlands..... extreme low temperatures (lowest was -20 C in the night in the South part) and lots of clean blue skies.

We hebben een zieke Remco hier. Vanaf vrijdagochtend at hij niets meer en kreeg een behoorlijke koorts. Hij valt in slaap waar je bij staat en klaagt over buikpijn (gelukkig geen overgeven!). Tegen de avond (zondag) knapte hij iets op en hij at ook een beetje vla.... hopelijk weer helemaal de oude morgen!

We had (have) a very sick Remco here. Starting on Friday morning he refused to eat and having quite a fever. He falls asleep everywhere, complains about tommy ache (no vomitting thank goodness). He was a little better this (Sunday) afternoon... I hope he will be fine tomorrow.

En hier werd het dus moeilijk.... de foto's van het schaatsen van deze week. Tessa deed het geweldig goed op haar nieuwe schaatsen; Sander had er een stuk meer moeite mee. We hebben heerlijk geschaatst met mijn zus en haar kinderen op het Noord Aa.

And this is where it got difficult.... pictures of skating during this week. Tessa was doing awesome on her new skates; Sander had quite a hard time. We had a wonderful time with my DSister and her kids this afternoon.

En weer een paar pagina's

Ook de laatste dagen lukt het nog steeds een pagina per dag te scrappen. Veel van de pagina's zijn geinspireerd of gescraplift uit magazines of van internet. Ik houd het eerlijk gezegd niet zo goed bij, waar het vandaan komt. Mocht je nu iets herkennen van jezelf en wil je hiervoor de credit krijgen... stuur even een berichtje en ik regel het.

I still succeed in scrapping a page a day this week. A lot of the pages are inspired by or lifted from magazines or from the internet. To be honnest, I don't keep track if this information. When you do recognise something and you want to get the credits for it... please let me know and I will take care of it! 

(11-14)

Pagina's 6 tot en met 10

In het voorjaar heb ik mijn Amerikaanse vriendin Aleta, die op een basis in Duitsland woont bezocht. Op de laatste dag hebben we een dinosaurus park bezocht in Kaiserslautern. Ik vind het ZO jammer dat ze nu niet meer in de buurt woont, maar nu gestationeerd is in Alaska!

Last spring I visited my American friend Aleta, who's husband is stationed in Germany. We visited a dino park in Kaiserslautern. I SO regret it that she is not near me anymore, but moved to Alaska.

Ik heb de stapel vakantiefoto's erbij gepakt en probeer die weg te werken. Deze foto van Paul vindt ik geweldig.... misschien zou hij toch maar weer eens een stuk van zijn haar af moeten knippen ;-P.

I took a stack of vacation pictures and try to work my way through them. I love this picture of Paul.... maybe he should have a haircut... I really like this 'cleaner' look ;-P

Vlak na de zomer waren we het weekend bij Wim en Liesbeth (Olst) en zijn we naar de Julianatoren geweest. het was bloedheet die dag, maar we hebben heel veel lol gehad. Na de lunch zijn zij weer naar huis gegaan en hebben wij nog een paar uurtjes in het park doorgebracht. Dit hobbelding vond remco in eerste instantie helemaal niets, maar al heel snel kregen hij en Sander helemaal de slappe lach!

Just after summer we spent the weekend with friends and we went to Julianatoren. It was extremely hot that day, but had a blast. After lunch our friends went h ome and we spent some more hours in the park. This bumpy thing scared the hell out of Remco, but soon thereafter he and Sander couldn't stop laughing!

Ook in Engeland een treinenpretpark. Het was eerlijk gezegd een beetje oude rommel, maar Remco deden we er een groot plezier mee. In de wagons waar de miniatuur treinbanen waren keek hij zijn ogen uit. Ik denk dat we de route wel 3 of 4 keer gelopen hebben en nog was hij ontroostbaar toen we weg wilden.

In the UK we went to a train park. To be honnest.... it was old crap, but we scored some points with Remco. In the trains with small train models, he is in awe... I think we walked the tour about 3 or 4 times and even then he didn't want to leave (sticked (to the window)).

After the holidays it's time to start the diet again... a yummie vegetable stew.

Tessa vindt het heerlijk om te knutselen... van wie zou ze dat nu hebben ;-P

A new year.... a new start

Kijk nooit teveel achterom... maar kijk vooruit, naar nieuwe kansen en mogelijkheden.... En dat is dan ook precies wat ik ga doen. Er zijn aan het begin van deze januari een tweetal projecten die ik de meeste aandacht ga geven op dit blog. 

Don't look back too much.... but look forward, towards new chances and opportunities...... That is exactly what I plan to do. With the start of this new year there are 2 projects which I will show on this blog.

De eerste is gelijk aan wat ik vorig jaar ook in januari gedaan heb.... elke dag een pagina scrappen, of ..... voor elke dag van de maand een pagina scrappen. Ik heb het plan opgevat om dit jaar aan de 365 pagina's te komen.... ik weet niet of ik ze allemaal zal posten, maar ik doe mijn best.

The first one is the same as I did last year in January..... to scrap a page every day, or..... to scrap a page for each day of the month. I have my goal set on 365 pages this year.... I don't know if I will post them all, but I'll try.

Het tweede project is een beetje gelijk aan het oorspronkelijke principe van deze weblog.... veel foto's te maken zodat een jaar uit mijn/ons leven in foto's vastgelegd wordt. Foto's van hoogtepunten, maar vooral ook van het leven of de voorwerpen van alledag. Dit keer leg ik de lat iets lager... Per week wil ik 3 foto's uitkiezen die ik in een eenvoudig 2/pagina album zal stoppen. Het vierde gat op de pagina wordt gevuld met enige journaling.... soms wat meer dan anders. Ik beloof nog niet dat de journaling ook op dit weblog gaat komen. 

The second project is similar to the original plan of of this blog..... take lots of pictures in a way that my/our life will be captured in pictures for a year. Pictures of milestones and highlights, but more then that of life and 'stuff' of everyday life. This time I will lower my goal.... Each week I want to pick 3 pictures which I will put in a simple 2-up album. The fourth slot of each 'spread' will be used for a journaling card.... sometimes more, other times just a few words. I do NOT promise that the journaling will be posted on my blog too.

Het streven is dan om dit weblog minimaal 1 keer per week bij te werken.... Oh en voor ik het vergeet:

Ja, ja, ik weet het... denk dat ik me er maar bij neer moet leggen dat ik niet zo'n blog mens ben. Yes, yes, I know ... I guess I just have to admit that I am not the blogging kind of person.
